Former Australian skipper Steven Smith has joined the Rajasthan Royals camp ahead of the 12th season of the league. Smith had missed the previous season of the Indian Premier League as he was banned for one year for ball tampering. Thus, Smith will like to hit the ground running while playing for the franchise.

Meanwhile, Steven Smith will like to get back amongst the runs in the Indian Premier League. Smith hasn’t played any competitive cricket in the last one year and he would be hungry to perform in the domestic T20 league.

Steve Smith will like to hit the ground running.

Smith had recently suffered an elbow injury which has hampered his return. Meanwhile, Smith one year ban will be lifted on 29th March. In fact, Smith will also join the Australian team for the last two One Day Internationals against Pakistan in the UAE. However, he is not going to play for the Australian team.

On the other hand, Steven Smith had also uploaded a video in which he was batting as his elbow has recuperated. Thus, Smith will aim to get going in the IPL 2019.

In fact, Smith was banned for one year when he was at the peak of his career. Smith was the number one Test batsman when he was banned for a year.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will be led by India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. The 12th season of the Indian Premier League will begin when defending champions Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 23.

Rajasthan Royals will begin their IPL 2019 campaign when they will take on Kings XI Punjab on March 25th at Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur.
