Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might have to deal with an injury concern after their star man Faf du Plessis was spotted with an ice pack around his knee following the win over Kings XI Punjab on Sunday (October 4).
The former South Africa skipper starred with the bat as CSK thrashed KXIP by ten wickets to return to winning ways. He and Shane Watson scored impressive unbeaten fifties to power the three-time champions to the much-needed win. Watson remained unbeaten on 83 while Faf du Plessis remained unbeaten on 87 as CSK chased down the 179-run target with more than two overs remaining and all the ten wickets intact.
But after the game, Faf du Plessis was spotted sporting an ice pack around his knee while he was roaming in the field with Watson. CSK posted a clip of post-match scenes on their YouTube channel and towards the end of the video, the South African was seen sporting the ice pack.
The Chennai-based outfit would be desperately hoping that the injury is not serious and applying the ice pack was just a precautionary measure. CSK will be in action next on Wednesday (September 7) when they take on Kolkata Knight Riders and if the injury is indeed serious, it won’t be surprising if Faf du Plessis goes on to miss the clash.
Here is the clip posted by the franchise:
Faf du Plessis has been in good form in the ongoing IPL. In five games so far, he has scored three impressive fifties. His scores in IPL 2020 so far are – 58*, 72, 43, 22 and 87*.
