IPL: AB De Villiers is reportedly set to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Next Edition ∼ Former South Africa cricketer, AB de Villiers is likely to lead the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the upcoming edition of the IPL.

Meanwhile, RCB is desperate to change their fortunes in the cash-rich league. They are yet to put their hands on the much-coveted trophy. They have already named Gary Kirsten as their coach replacing Daniel Vettori and have retained Ashish Nehra in the coaching staff.

However, they are likely to make the biggest change to the setup by appointing AB de Villiers as their skipper. He will replace Virat Kohli, who has led the side in the past six seasons since 2013. They had a strong squad in every season but somehow lacked the killer instinct to win matches consistently.

As per reports in Sportzwiki, the franchise has removed Kohli from the helm of the team following yet another poor season for the team.

AB de Villiers will not now over the scheme of the things, who will be available for the whole season of IPL.

De Villiers, meanwhile, will be a star attraction at the PSL Player Draft this season, after signing for Pakistan’s domestic T20 league. Announcing his signing in a video message, he admitted is looking forward to the season in PSL 2019.

Pakistan Super League has grown into one of the top T20 tournaments in the world and I’ve really enjoyed watching PSL matches in recent years. PSL is a league that has given Pakistan so much to cheer about. I certainly can’t wait and I’ll see you there,” AB de Villiers said.

The swashbuckling startled the cricketing fraternity announcing his retirement at a very early age. De Villiers represented South Africa in 114 Test matches, 228 ODIs, and 78 T20Is. However, he will continue playing the domestic T20 leagues including the IPL.
