Former India pacer Ashok Dinda has hit out at vile trolls aimed at him in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Bengal star is not a part of the ongoing season but is still being targeted every time a bowler is having a bad day at the office. Fans across social media are morphing images to take a sly dig at Dinda. To make the matters worse, even Royal Challengers Bangalore’s official Twitter handle followed the trend too.

Every time a bowler has bowled an expensive spell this season, the fans have taken a shot at Dinda by saying that the bowler has joined ‘Dinda Academy’.  On Wednesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore also did the same after Umesh Yadav defended 27 runs in the final over against Kings XI Punjab. However, they received flak from the fans and soon deleted the tweet.

With the situation now getting out of hand, Ashok Dinda, on Thursday, finally took to Instagram to hit out at the trolls. He posted a screenshot of his stats while writing:

“Haters, helping you get you statistics right. Stop and stare well your opinion is not my reality. So shut your hating selves and keep me out of your mouth.”

Ashok Dinda, meanwhile, last played for India way back in 2013 during the home series against England. After making his debut against Sri Lanka in 2009, Dinda represented the national team in 13 ODIs and 9 T20Is, picking up a total of 29 wickets across formats. He has also not played in the IPL since 2017. The right-arm pacer played 78 games, picking 68 wickets while conceding at an economy-rate of 8.22.

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
