Former Chief Selector Kris Srikkanth Proud Of Three Indian Players Due To How They Grew

Former Indian chief selector Kris Srikkanth bought mixed results during his tenure. Under him, while India managed to win the World Cup; however, suffered humiliating Test series losses in Australia and England after that. But the silver lining was the emergence of Virat Kohli, which Kris Srikkanth labels as his achievement, having backed him during his initial days.

In the Star Sports’ Show Cricket Connected, Kris Srikkanth named Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Murali Vijay as his top picks as a selector for the way they grew and were groomed. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag played their part successfully in grooming them. While Murali Vijay may not find himself back in the Indian side, Kohli and Ashwin have solidified their spots.

“Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Murali Vijay are my top picks as a selector, the way they grew and were groomed, I’m really proud of.” the 60-year old stated.
