Star bowling all-rounder, Krunal Pandya had opened up on how he felt when he made his debut for Mumbai Indians way back in IPL 2016. Mumbai Indians bought Krunal Pandya for Rs 2 crore in IPL 2016 auction. Earlier, Krunal had revealed that John Wright spotted him and Hardik Pandya during Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament, which eventually helped them to get IPL contracts.

Similar to his brother Hardik, Krunal made the headlines in 2016 in his maiden IPL season. The left-hander scored 237 runs at the strike rate of 191.12 – and scalped six wickets. He continued his impressive run and followed up with 243 runs and ten wickets in IPL 2017.

Krunal was snapped by the Mumbai Indians for Rs 2 crores in the IPL Auction for the 2016 edition. He described how it was an emotional moment as he went on to make his IPL debut.

“I had gone to Mumbai to see a doctor for my shoulder injury, and Hardik asked me to come down to the stadium and watch the match. That was the only game I watched in the stadium, and the following year I debuted for the Mumbai Indians on the same ground a year later against Gujarat Lions. That was quite an emotional moment for me,” Krunal said.

The all-rounder did well scoring 20 not out from 11 balls followed by figures of 1/20 in his four-over spell. His first wicket in the IPL was wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik who tried to sweep it across only to find the fielder at long leg.

Uncertainty Looms Large Over IPL 2020 Future

With the coronavirus outbreak bringing the world to a standstill, the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed from March 29 to April 15. India is currently on a 21-day lockdown to combat the deadly virus.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now looking at the October-November window for the IPL. But the move can be possible only if the ICC decides to postpone the men’s T20 World Cup that is to be held later in the year, according to some sources in the board.

On Friday, latest reports suggested that the BCCI is probing into the July window to conduct the IPL and it could take place behind closed doors.

However, all hopes have once again vanished as the BCCI. On Thursday suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 indefinitely in the light of the coronavirus pandemic.
