MS Dhoni hasn’t played a competitive game since India’s 2019 World Cup semi-final defeat against New Zealand, and it seems that just like his fans, his teammates are also missing him on the field.

Kuldeep Yadav, who has benefitted a lot with MS Dhoni’s presence behind the stumps, has reckoned that the former captain should once again play for India.

“We all are missing Mahi bhai. I am a big fan of Mahi bhai. I really want him to come back into the team soon and play. Personally, I really feel he should play for India again,” Kuldeep Yadav told The Times of India.

Hailing MS Dhoni as an ‘instant advisor’, Kuldeep said the former captain does not believe in giving advice before or after the time while also admitting how the former captain’s advice has helped him throughout his career.

“Whenever we stepped onto the field, Mahi bhai would come up with some instant advice. That advice helped me a lot in my career. He is a great instant advisor,” Kuldeep said.

The left-arm leg-spinner also said that he is lucky to play under seniors like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.

“He is someone who doesn’t believe giving advice ahead of and after the game. He will analyse things and come up with instant advice on the field. That’s what Virat bhai does as well,” he said.

“Mahi bhai is an instant advisor, Virat bhai is a great motivator. Apart from these two, Rohit bhai also guided me a lot on many occasions. I am really grateful that I am playing under seniors like Virat, Dhoni and Rohit.” Kuldeep added.

Coming back to MS Dhoni, the former captain would have made his return to competitive cricket by now, had the 2020 edition of the IPL gone ahead as per the original schedule. The IPL was postponed due to COVID-19, meaning fans will have to wait for some more time before they get to see Dhoni in action once again.
