It all started with Hafeez writing a post: “On Fans requests Let’s start Q/A session.” The fan took to Twitter and wrote, “Any plan for giving up on career?” To this query Hafeez replied: “Give up, I don’t know this Word , My career Meri Marzi (My career, my way).”

Hafeez made his debut in domestic cricket way back in the 1998/99 season following which he got the first taste of cricket at the highest level in 2003. The experienced campaigner last plied his trade for the Edmonton Royals in the Global T20 Canada in Ontario.

Recently, the former captains Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez were left out of the list of players awarded central contracts for the 2019-20 season by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday. Malik had announced his retirement from ODIs after the World Cup and will now only play T20 format while Hafeez has retired from Test cricket.
