But apart from all his skills on the cricket field, it is the manner in which Dhoni has carried himself off the field and the manner in which he has always remained calm amidst all the responsibilities and the pressure that has been thrusted on him is what makes him a source of inspiration for not his fellow teammates but also for his opponents.

“MS Dhoni has always been a big idol of mine and chaos is always going around him, people wanting a bit of him, the cricket and the noise. Jos Buttler has been a key part of the Indian Premier League for the past five-six years. The swashbuckling opener, who started his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians before moving to his current franchise Rajasthan Royals, said that he has learned to handle the pressure that comes with playing in such a high-profile tournament.

“It was one of the pressures you have to learn, especially in India, as an overseas player, you are one of the four in the team and you know the other four who are not playing are also world-class players. So you are under pressure to perform. So that”s been a great learning curve. One of the things I came out with from the first IPL is to just learn to deal with the chaos.”

“There is so much going on off the field, with adverts and stuff that you never done before, meet and greet and different things for different sponsors and then thinking about the game all the time and finding ways to switch off,” added Buttler.

Buttler was slated to spearhead the Rajasthan Royals’ unit in the 13th edition of the IPL but the tournament has now been postponed for an indefinite period of time due to COVID-19.
