Mumbai Indians outclassed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in every department to get the monkey off their back in UAE. After struggling to win matches on slow wickets in UAE, Mumbai Indians displayed a dominating performance to seal a thumping victory in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

KKR toiled hard but failed to get among wickets as Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma took them to the cleaners. Stepping in to bat at No.3, Yadav hit quick-fire 47 runs off 28 deliveries, laced with six boundaries and one hit over the fence to help his side reach a total of 195/5. Mumbai Indians bowlers then did a fantastic job to restrict KKR to 146/9.

Yadav believes that it was a fantastic match and they batted brilliantly. He also added that Mumbai Indians had planned to get 185-odd runs against KKR and they ticked all the boxes perfectly.

“It was a fantastic game,” Suryakumar told the iplt20website. ”

Talking about batting, it was a brilliant wicket. We had a chat of getting about 180-185, today we ticked the boxes completely, we just kept our basics right and kept on batting and we got to that score.”
