New Zealand vs India 2020: 2nd ODI, Auckland – India’s Predicted Playing XI; After facing a defeat in Hamilton, the Indian National Cricket Team are put themselves in a situation to win the game at any cost. A little mess up can cost them a series, as it is only a 3-match schedule. The youngsters would like to prove themselves while the skipper Virat Kohli wants his side to be right on top of their game, especially with the ball.

Though batsmen performed brilliantly with the bat, it was the bowling department, who failed to make things happen. Can we see any changes to the team? Will Shardul Thakur holds his place? How about the inclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini? Will KL Rahul keep wickets again? Let’s have a look into the probable playing XI of India for the second game.

India’s Predicted Playing XI:

1. Mayank Agarwal:

The youngster looked in brilliant touch during his partnership with Prithvi Shaw on his debut. However, he failed to convert his start into a big one, which troubled the team. Mayank Agarwal would like to make this opportunity count and cement his position as an opener of the team.

With other youngsters waiting for their turn, it is important for him to get a good knock under his belt as quickly as possible.

He looked very promising with the bat on the other day at Hamilton. Much like Mayank Agarwal, he also failed to convert his start into a big knock. Prithvi Shaw also looked weak in the fielding section, which will be on his To-do list in the second game. The flamboyant batsman is in fine form with the bat and would like to showcase it in Indian Jersey.

3. Virat Kohli:

The skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team had scored 51 in the first game but failed to convert it like the two openers. He settled things in the middle overs but dropped entire burden on the middle-order, who actually did well. With the series at stake, it will be interesting to see how Virat Kohli will deal with the pressure as a captain.

4. Shreyas Iyer:

Unfortunately, Iyer’s maiden century ended up on the wrong side of things. However, he received all the admirations from the experts and the team management for showcasing incredible resistance in the middle. First with Virat and later with KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer proved why he is rated highly by the cricket experts. He would like to repeat the stuff.

5. KL Rahul:

The Karnataka batsman once again had a sensational game with the bat. Batting at number 5, he scored an unbeaten 88* to help India post a massive tally on the board. The flamboyant batsman looks settled in the middle-order position to give India an advantage. His wicket-keeping will also be the centre of attraction on Saturday.

6. Shivam Dube:

Kedar Jadhav may have batted brilliantly in the first ODI but looking at the team balance, the Indian team might prefer the all-rounder Shivam Dube for the Auckland game. India faced a serious problem with no extra bowling option in hand for Virat Kohli. Though Kedar Jadhav is capable of bowling an off-spin, Virat Kohli decided to not give him a ball. Mostly, Shivam Dube might get the opportunity.

7. Ravindra Jadeja:

Jadeja looked decent with the ball in his first spell but failed to restrict runs in his second spell. Both Rose Taylor and Tom Latham went against him to knock his good bowling figures off. He might get one more opportunity to make things fall in place for India.

8. Kuldeep Yadav:

He proved to be pretty ordinary in the middle on the other day but the team management might rely their trust on him for the second game as well. He was taken to cleaners by Tom Latham in the middle overs, which completely changed the complexion of the game. However, Kuldeep Yadav would like to make a strong comeback.

9. Navdeep Saini:

This could be the other change India could bring for the second ODI. Navdeep Saini has been performing for while now but the team persisted with Shardul Thakur, as he is capable of batting down the order as well. But, looking at the bowling department, Virat Kohli might ask for a change.

10. Mohammed Shami:

Shami also looked ordinary in the middle at Hamilton. He leaked runs and failed to take the wicket in the powerplay overs, which cost India dearly. He would like to make a strong comeback with a performance in the second game.

11. Jasprit Bumrah:

It was surprising to see Jasprit Bumrah failing to make an impact on the game. The New Zealand team dealt him pretty easily in his second spell when they cruised to victory. Surprisingly, he bowled 13 wides in his 10-over quota. However, Bumrah has always been a champion for India, who likes to make a comeback.
