Ajinkya Rahane-led India scripted a sensational comeback to win the second Test in Melbourne as they levelled the four-match rubber. The Indian team could not have asked for a performance better than the one displayed in Melbourne as the tourists beat Australia across departments. Ajinkya Rahane, who got the man of the match award too, revealed that they did not even concentrate on the first Test after touching Melbourne.
The Indian team stooped to an all-time low in the first Test in Adelaide when Australia skittled them out for 36. Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins shared nine wickets between them as the home side ended the Indian innings in 90 minutes, costing them the match. After the first Test, they also lost Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami for the remainder of the series. Thus, to win by eight wickets in Melbourne was a stunning effort.
Ajinkya Rahane said that not only they did not touch the topic of what happened in Adelaide but also did not practice much in Melbourne. The 32-year old underlined that all they had was a couple of sessions after landing in Melbourne.
“We didn’t touch that topic at all. We came to Melbourne and did not practice much as well. We had two sessions after coming to Melbourne,” Rahane told Sony Sports Network.

Since all the players had arrived in Australia a month back and prepared well, they all concentrated on training. Rahane underlined that the players could not doubt their ability only because of one bad hour. All they needed to do was to rectify their mindset, intent, and attitude.
“All the players were focussing a lot on the training. As Test players, we had come here one month back. So we had prepared well. You cannot doubt your ability if one hour goes bad. We just had to correct our attitude, intent and mindset. So, we did not talk at all about the Adelaide Test match,” he added.
