India’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Dinesh Karthik remains fully aware of the Bangladesh threat in the finals of the Nidahas Trophy 2018.

The men in green were responsible for knocking out the host by chasing down their total twice in an enthralling fashion.

According to Karthik, even with a second-string squad, India is expected to overhaul the Bangladeshis in the finals of the T20I triangular series.

Let’s be fair to India as a cricketing nation – whether we play the second string or the first-string team it’s always the case (that a win is expected). When we play Bangladesh and we win it’s like, ‘Ok, you’ve won against Bangladesh’. But if we lose it’s like: ‘Dude, you’ve lost to Bangladesh. What are you doing?’ I’m sure that’s going to be there,” commented Dinesh Karthik.

Furthermore, DK claimed the Indian captain Rohit Sharma intends to bring out the best out of his players, leaving nothing for the opposition.

Bangladesh is known for their tenacity: DK

With Rohit, the first thing that he said was that although we have a few of our other players missing, we’re looking to play exactly the sort of cricket that we’ve played in the past one year,” DK claimed.

DK reckons a team like Bangladesh has made rapid strides in International cricket in the last few years. Against all the odds, the Tigers reached the semi-finals of Champions Trophy in 2017.

Also, they managed to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 2015.

But especially in subcontinent conditions, Bangladesh is a very good team. They are known for their tenacity. They really try hard. They are a team that achieved Test status not many years ago. From there on they have propelled in all formats of the game and done well for themselves,” concluded Dinesh Karthik while talking to Espncricinfo.
