The former fast bowler of Pakistan Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for their poor working culture. He thrashed the officials for not utilising the former cricketers to make things fall in place. Akhtar strongly believes Pakistan would have been in a better position if senior cricketers were there in the setup.
The legendary bowler asked the board to look at BCCI or the other boards, who are using the services of their former cricketers to get things done. He also highlighted the pay packages to the players, who take the role for the betterment.
Is that how you treat your stars? Shoaib Akhtar asks
Younis Khan, who was almost confirmed to take the role of U19 coach ahead of the World Cup was asked to take INR 13 Lakhs, which actually was INR 15 Lakhs. Akhtar wants PCB to invest for a better future.
Former Pakistan skipper Younis has recently claimed that PCB owes him a staggering amount of 4-6 crore.

Speaking in a video on his Youtube channel, Akhtar said: “Indian U19 team was so mature because they have a mature coach. They got India’s best middle-order batsman Rahul Dravid for the coaching role in U19 team. When you get a big guy, you need to pay him big as well. Here, Younis Khan went to take the job, the PCB offered him a job, and then they are bargaining with him. ‘15 lakh nahi, 13 lakh le lo’. He said ‘take it back’. Is that how you treat your stars?”
“Andrew Strauss ran England Cricket. South Africa cricket is now being handled by Graeme Smith. And here, Pakistan veteran cricketers are running YouTube channels,” he said. “I do this for fun’s sake. But I don’t need to do it. My fans want to listen to me. But, still it is very painful,” he added.
We looked very immature: Shoaib Akhtar
Further, Akhtar asked PCB to look at BCCI, who asked Sourav Ganguly to handle things as the president. He also highlighted the vision of the board, who worked for the success and achieved it on the International stage.

“BCCI has invested in the U19 team. They made a 15-year plan. They brought Jagmohan Dalmiya, N Srinivasan – who brought investment, cricket, and IPL. Then, cherry on the top, they bring Sourav Ganguly at the helm. Who did we get? Pata nahi kaun Mani sahab,” he said.
“There are some people who do not want PCB to get good players in the team. But if you don’t, the situation will remain the same. We looked very immature team – bad fielding, technical faults, poor bowlers,” Akhtar signed off.
