In the wake of the Pulwama attack in J&K, the politicians, former cricketers, have asked the BCCI to boycott Pakistan at the 2019 World Cup. Meanwhile, team India head coach, Ravi Shastri has spoken on the matter. Ravi said the team would follow BCCI’s instructions and the government in that matter.

Though there have been several reports stating the CoA have put pressure on the board to urge the ICC to ban Pakistan from the WC, there hasn’t been an official word out on the same. On February 27th, in Dubai, an ICC meeting will be held where the future of the India-Pakistan match will get discussed.

On February 14th (Thursday), a jeep carrying around 300kgs of explosives ran into an Army convoy; resulting in an explosion and death of more than 42 CRPF jawans at the spot. Not only this but also dozens of army personals got severely injured in the terror attack. The terrorist group, Jaish-eh-Mohammad had claimed responsibility of the same.

Meanwhile, Shastri added if the government would tell the matter is sensitive and we don’t have to play Pakistan, we will stick to the decision.

“It’s entirely left to the BCCI and the government. They know exactly what is happening and they will take a call. We will go by what they decide. If the government says it’s that sensitive you do not need to play the World Cup, I will go by my government,” Shastri told Mirror Now.
