India’s talisman all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has shed light on his white ball form chances. In fact, Ashwin had last played in the colored jersey for India on 30 June 2017 against the Windies. However, Ashwin hasn’t been able to make his return to the Indian ODI side since then. Furthermore, with Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal performing at the top of their prowess, it looks a difficult road back for Ravichandran Ashwin.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin himself lauded the young spin pair for grabbing their chances with both hands. Both the spinners have been instrumental in the success of the team. However, Ravichandran Ashwin wants to wait for his opportunities and said he should be ready if one of the chances knocks at his door.

Chahal and Kuldeep have kept Ashwin at bay.

Ravichandran Ashwin said while talking to Cricket Next, “There is nothing as such, making peace and all. I think it’s only about coming to terms with what has happened and what’s panned out. You have got to give credit to Kuldeep and Chahal, who came in for myself and Jaddu and did really well. You have to applaud them. At the end of the day, competition is the healthiest thing”.

On the other hand, Ash went on to praise Kuldeep and Chahal for making the most of their chances. They have grabbed their chances and thus have kept the selection door close for Ravichandran Ashwin. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja was able to sneak through in Asia Cup when Hardik Pandya was ruled out due to injury.

Ashwin went on add, “How many teams in the world actually have the luxury of sitting spinners of Jaddu and my quality outside? That’s something you need to applaud them for, for having taken their chances with both hands. But to me, it’s all about standing behind the door and waiting for the opportunity. When the opportunity presents itself, I have to be ready to take it”.

There is no doubt that it is going to be an uphill task for Ravichandran Ashwin to get back into India’s limited overs squad. However, Ashwin has been a champion spinner for India and has all the experience in the world.
