It was a day to remember for Ravindra Jadeja and his fans, as he displayed his class as a player for the Indian National Cricket Team. The flamboyant cricketer displayed his brilliant skills with the ball and also took a remarkable catch in the outfield only to make things fall in place for India.
In the 61st over of New Zealand’s first innings, Jadeja bowled a ripper to castle Colin De Grandhomme. The ball was pitched on the off stump; it did turn enough to bluff the batsman and disturb the timber.
De Grandhomme, meanwhile, played inside the line of his defence and didn’t anticipate the turn which Jadeja extracted through the surface.
Ravindra Jadeja picked 2/22 in 10 overs:
Initially, Jadeja had a great start as he picked Ross Taylor’s wicket in his 3rd over. Once again, when the team was in extensive need of a wicket, Jadeja delivered a brilliant ball to dismiss de Grandhomme.

The all-rounder further showed his brilliance when he grabbed a stunning catch, to dismiss Neil Wagner off Mohammed Shami’s over. Jadeja, who was stationed at square-leg grabs the ball airborne with one hand before being tumbled down.
The magical effort of Jadeja is combined with the performances of Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. India bundled New Zealand out for 235 to take the seven-run lead before the start of second innings.
Just when India looked in control of the game, New Zealand bowlers changed the complexion of the game by knocking out Indian batsmen with ease. Trent Boult was the star performer for the hosts with three wickets in the final few overs.
At the end of day 2 stumps, India scored 90 for 6 wickets to have a 97-run lead. Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant were at the crease at the time of stumps.
India will hope them to come good alongside Jadeja on Day 3, to have something on the board to fight for.
