Royal Challengers Bangalore have secured the services of Kings XI Punjab’s Australian allrounder Marcus Stoinis for the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. In return the Bangalore-based outfit has sold Mandeep Singh to the Kings XI Punjab.

In 2015,  Kings XI Punjab had signed Stoinis for INR 5.5 million. Interestingly, Royal Challengers Bangalore had bought Stoinis in the last auction for a whopping amount of INR 6.2 crore. However, the Punjab-based outfit had exercised their Right To Match card to buy the allrounder back.

He spent three seasons with the Kings XI but could not quite cement his place in the side and his stats pretty much prove that. In three seasons, he played only 19 games and scored 262 runs in addition to picking up 13 wickets. His highest-score was 52 while his best bowling figures were 4 for 52.

On the other hand, Mandeep Singh returns to Punjab after plying his trade for Royal Challengers Bangalore for three seasons.

Making his debut in 2010 for Kolkata Knight Riders, Mandeep shone in 2012 season for Kings XI Punjab. He scored 432 runs from 16 matches, including two half-centuries, and ended the tournament as Kings XI Punjab’s leading run-scorer. He was also adjudged the winner of “Rising Star of the tournament Award”.

In 2015, Bangalore bought him from Punjab before re-signing him in the last auction.

He was one of the most consistent players for Bangalore last season where they finished seventh on the points table. The right-handed batsman scored 252 runs in 14 games.

Meanwhile, the trade window is going to be closed in the coming days. As per reports, the auction for the upcoming season is set to take place on December 16. Usually the auction takes place in the month of January or February. However, this time there is an early auction. Moreover, unlike the previous years, the upcoming auction will not be a mega one. The franchise already have adequate layers on their roster and will just look to bolster the weak areas by signing a handful of players.
