Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal carried his good form from the last match into this crucial encounter of the IPL 2022 against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 11, 2022, at the DY Patil Stadium as his six had the opposition players in DC dugout scared as it landed near them.
In the 58th match of the Indian Premier League edition 15, the Capitals are facing RR in a do-or-die match. DC are placed 5th on the IPL 2022 points table with 5 wins in 11 matches and a loss here could be a huge setback to their hopes of playoffs qualification, while for the 3rd place holders RR, it’s a matter of 2 more wins to cement their spot in the playoffs, which has Gujarat Titans taking up spot already.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant won the toss and decided that DC will bowl first on the DY Patil pitch. DC made two changes as Lalit Yadav replaced Ripal Patel and Khaleel Ahmed was replaced by Chetan Sakariya. On the other hand, RR had a forced change as Rassie van der Dussen came in for Shimron Hetmyer, who has gone back home for the birth of his first child.

RR openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal walked out to give the team a good start. However, Chetan Sakariya accounted for Jos Buttler early as his effort to hit over the top failed to clear the mid-on player and he was out for 7 runs.
But Jaiswal continued to take the attack to DC bowlers and this included a fine six off the pacy Anrich Nortje in the 4th over. Nortje bowled a quick bouncer which Jaiswal rocked on the back foot and slapped him behind square on the offside. Deep third man tried his best, but the ball went over his head and landed in the DC dugout behind him, sending the players and support staff for cover.
