'Sabme hai Tewatia': Virender Sehwag Lauds Kieron Pollard After His Whirlwind Knock Against RCB

A day after Rahul Tewatia powered Rajasthan Royals to a stunning win over Kings XI Punjab, Kieron Pollard nearly did the same for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The West Indies allrounder scored 60 off just 24 balls to help Mumbai Indians come from behind to tie the game before the defending champions lost the super over.
Chasing a mammoth 202, Mumbai Indians were reeling at 78 for 4 in the 12th over when Kieron Pollard joined Ishan Kishan in the middle. At that stage, it looked like Mumbai Indians’ chances of winning the game was all but over. With the situation of the team not very good, Kieron Pollard took his time early on.
The West Indies star scored just 11 runs from the first ten balls he faced. He finally changed gears in the 17th over bowled by Adam Zampa and did not look back. In the seventeenth over, he hit the Australia spinner for three fours and a six to collect 27 runs and turn the game on its head.

In the 18th over, he hit Yuzvendra Chahal for two more sixes to reach his fifty off just 20 balls and bring the equation to 31 from the last two overs. In the last two overs, Kieron Pollard did not face too many balls and it was Kishan who took the centre stage.
With 17 runs needed from the last four balls, Kishan hit two sixes off Isuru Udana before being dismissed on 99 on the fifth ball. And when five runs were needed off the final ball, Kieron Pollard hit a four to push the game to a super over where Royal Challengers Bangalore won the contest while chasing 8.
Pollard’s Tewatia form:
As the Trinidad allrounder was taking the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers to the cleaners, former India opener Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to lavish praise on him. In his usual unique manner, Sehwag compared the knock to that of Tewatia’s and wrote:
“Sabme hai Tewatia , jagaane waala chahiye. Polly Polly”
