Former India batter Mohammad Kaif took to Twitter and posted a heartwarming tribute to veteran India batter Cheteshwar Pujara and Shikhar Dhawan for their zeal and passion for the game of cricket. This came after their respective ongoing feats with the bat.

Cheteshwar Pujara has been on fire in the county championship for Sussex as he slammed three double-centuries for the team while also captaining the side and then translated the same red-ball form into white-ball form as well, smashing two back-to-back scintillating centuries in the Royal London one-day Cup.

He scored 201* against Derbyshire, 203 against Durham which came back-to-back and then registered 231 against Middlesex at Lord’s. He accumulated a total of 1094 runs in 8 matches at an average of 109.40 with five centuries to his name.

On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan recently became the first Indian captain to white-wash West Indies in an ODI series in their own backyard, when India beat them 3-0 recently. Though Dhawan has been restrained to playing in ODIs only, he has been in terrific form of late.

He scored 97 and 58 against West Indies in ODIs and then recently scored 81* against Zimbabwe in the first ODI in Harare. The left-hander, in 11 innings in 2022, has scored 469 runs at 52.11 with five centuries.

Mohammad Kaif took to Twitter to pay rich tribute to both Cheteshwar Pujara and Shikhar Dhawan by posting a heartfelt message.

He stated: “A salute to Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara for their drive and passion. Just securing a place in the side can’t motivate to be this consistent. No negativity, no complaint, if I have a bat in hand I will score, that’s pure love for the game. #rukeganahi #shikhar #pujara.”
