Pakistan Cricket team skipper, Sarfraz Ahmed was in all praise for the young cricketers after their 2-0 win over Scotland in the Twenty20 Internationals at Edinburg on June 13 (Wednesday).

Meanwhile, Scotland failed to put up any resistance, as they lost the second T20I by 85 runs. Although Pakistan didn’t post a staggering total, their 166 proved enough to sink the Scots.

While it was an all-round show by Pakistan, Shoaib Malik came to the party yet again. His late knock of 49 runs from 22 balls guided Pakistan over the 150-run mark. Chasing 167 to win, Scotland managed to score just 82, thanks to Faheem Ashraf and Usman Khan who scalped five between them.

Usman was very impressive, giving away only four runs in his two overs while claiming the wickets. The other youngsters in the bowling unit, Shadab Khan and Ashraf too, put their hand up in their side’s win.

Unsurprisingly, skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was all praise for the young guns.

I want to credit our bowling line-up to defend targets in such small grounds,” Sarfraz said. “Feels good when new guys perform well. The likes of Faheem Ashraf, Shadab (Khan), Hasan Ali, Hussain Talat… the way Usman Khan bowled, it feels good,” he added.

There were also three run-outs in the Scotland innings that gave a lot of solace to Sarfraz. Not known for their fielding, Pakistan put in a lot of thought behind their fielding in a small ground like Edinburg.

Sarfraz hailed the boys and the coaching staffs for putting in a lot of effort on improving the fitness.

Fitness is really important in today’s fast-paced cricket,” Sarfraz pointed out. “We knew Scotland would come hard with the bat. We fielded really well. No praise is enough for this young team. Coaching staff worked hard too,” he concluded.
