Records continued to galore for Shikhar Dhawan during his brilliant knock against Kings XI Punjab as he became the first batsman in the history of the cash-rich league to rack up consecutive hundreds.

The southpaw was the lone spearhead for the Delhi Capitals against KXIP as he scored nearly 65 percent of his teams’ runs to ensure that DC scored 5-164 in 20 overs.

Dhawan looked like he continued exactly from where he had left against the Chennai Super Kings, as he racked up a 28-ball half-century.

The southpaw continued the onslaught throughout the 20 overs even as the Capitals continued to lose wickets at regular intervals.

Dhawan was particularly ruthless against the spinners as he constantly slog-swept them for fours and sixes.

The moment that Dhawan and his millions of fans finally came in the 19th over when he racked up his second consecutive 100 with a double against Arshdeep Singh.

Shikhar Dhawan also joined the likes of Virat Kohli (4 for RCB in 2016), Chris Gayle (2 for RCB in 2011), Hashim Amla (2 for KXIP in 2017), and Shane Watson (2 for CSK in 2018) to score multiple hundreds in a single season.
