Bangladesh southpaw opening batsman Soumya Sarkar went on to copy Shikhar Dhawan‘s post on Yuvraj Singh’s retirement. Soumya Sarkar took to his Facebook account to give his gratitude to Yuvraj Singh. However, Soumya Sarkar’s post was similar to the post of Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan. In fact, every word of Soumya Sarkar’s post matches with Shikhar Dhawan. A lot of former as well as current players had wished Yuvraj Singh after he announced his retirement on 10th June.
Shikhar Dhawan posted a tribute post to Yuvraj Singh on 10th June at 4.09 pm. However, Soumya Sarkar’s post came later in the day as he posted at 10:49 pm.
A lot of players had given their tribute to Yuvraj Singh.
On the other hand, Yuvraj Singh decided to announce his retirement after he didn’t get a chance to play for the national side for two years. Yuvraj Singh played his last match against West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards International Stadium on 30th June 2017 in the Indian colours.
Yuvraj Singh also didn’t get a lot of chances while playing in the Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. The southpaw batsman was part of the first four matches of the franchise. However, despite decent performances, he didn’t get any place in the middle order. The left-hander scored 98 runs in the four matches for Mumbai Indians.
Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 with a hairline fracture. Dhawan was hit on the thumb by Pat Cummins and he is expected to take three weeks to recuperate. Rishabh Pant is called as a backup cover for Dhawan.
Soumya Sarkar post read as, “Thank you, Yuvi paaji
You are one of the best left-handed batsmen I have ever seen.I always looked up to your style & batting technique, have learnt so much from you.
Wish you prosperity & success in your new journey.”
