Former India opener Virender Sehwag continues to entertain fans with his unique and quirky analysis of the games. The batting legend, who loves to play with the words on Twitter, came up with another funny analysis after SunRisers Hyderabad’s thumping eight-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals on Thursday.
It was a much-needed victory for the Hyderabad-based outfit. With four wins from 10 games, SRH are still in hunt for the playoffs. Manish Pandey was the star of the match, slamming an unbeaten 83 to help SRH recover from 16 for 2 and chase down 155 with more than an over remaining.
Manish Pandey’s knock came off just 47 deliveries and was studded with 4 boundaries and eight sixes. He shared an unbeaten stand of 140 runs with allrounder Vijay Shankar who remained unbeaten on 52 off 51 balls.
Virender Sehwag’s analysis of the game:
Soon after the match ended, Virender Sehwag summarised the game in his own style in his show ‘Viru Ki Baithak’. In his quirky style, Virender Sehwag said that SRH made Royals dance to their beats as he compared their win to a puppet show. He also lavished praise on Manish, saying that the right-handed batsman played an innings like him.
“Yesterday, Hyderabad made Rajasthan dance to their beats and showed them what it’s like to be a puppet as well as how enjoyable puppetry is. Pandeyji played an innings like me and wrecked Rajasthan,” Virender Sehwag said.
Speaking about Shankar, Virender Sehwag said the allrounder supported Manish well before stating that SRH’s middle-order as well as their playoff chances have been boosted with the impressive win.
“I think he sat and binge-watched all the Veeru Ki Baithak episodes. Good for him. Now he will get a warranty, Vijay Shankar played a good supporting role and became Vijay ‘Run’ Kar. Now it finally seems like Hyderabad’s middle order and their playoff chances have both been given CPR,” he said.
