As a result, the team management took swift action and invited Priyam Garg from Uttar Pradesh and Abhimanyu Easwaran, the skipper of Bengal’s white-ball team, for a two-day trial to potentially replace Nagarkoti in the squad for the remainder of the tournament.

According to sources at Sportskeeda, Priyam Garg and Abhimanyu Easwaran underwent rigorous training sessions with the Delhi Capitals (DC) team on Tuesday and Wednesday. The team’s fortunes seemed to take a turn for the better as they secured their first victory of the season against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Thursday.

Delhi Capitals Look To Strengthen Their Batting Department

With their batting line-up struggling, Delhi Capitals have reportedly brought in Priyam Garg, a former India Under-19 captain, to bolster their options. While Easwaran may be technically superior, having been on the fringes of the Indian team, Garg’s three seasons of IPL experience make him a valuable addition to the squad.

After being the runner-up at the 2020 Under-19 World Cup, Priyam Garg was signed by SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) for a significant sum of INR 1.90 crore. In 17 IPL innings, he has scored 251 runs, averaging 15.69 with a strike rate of 115.14.
