Suspended Australian cricketers and former captain and vice-captain of Australia, Steve Smith and David Warner could be back in action pretty soon. They have been given the clearance to play club cricket at home. However the 3rd tainted member from the trio, Cameron Bancroft might still have to wait a bit longer to resume his cricket.
The former skipper and the vice-captain duo Smith and Warner definitely received a huge boost. They will look to revive their careers in the right path. The New South Wales Cricket Association (NSWCA) confirmed the news. It stated that they won’t stop Smith and Warner from playing grade cricket this session. However, Bancroft, on the other hand hasn’t been cleared yet. It requires an exemption from the Western Australia District Cricket Council (WADCC) to make himself available to play for the club in Perth this year.
Cricket Australia imposed sanctions on the tainted trio who were involved in the ball tampering scandal. It happened around a couple of months ago. Warner and Smith decided to apply the glue of a sandpaper on the match ball in order to generate a bit more reverse swing. Bancroft was given the job to carry out the heinous task. However, he was caught red-handed in the camera as he tried to put the sandpaper inside his trousers.

Smith and Bancroft’s acceptance of the offence
The former Australian skipper along with Bancroft accepted their offence at the post-match press conference. Smith and Warner have been suspended to play international and domestic cricket. However, they are eligible to play club cricket. The rules of NSWCA and WADCC have specific rules in their place. It prohibits a player suspended by Cricket Australia to take part in any WADCC competitions during the duration of the suspension.
However the New South Wales cleared the fact that despite CA’s verdict any player is eligible to take part in club cricket. Meanwhile, a meeting has also been conducted to determine the fact that whether Bancroft should be given the same and equal clearance.
