Sunil Gavaskar Reckons Young Indian Players Like Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw And Shreyas Iyer Will Benefit A Lot From Working With Ricky Ponting

Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian legendary opener-turned commentator, feels that young Indian talents like Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, and Shreyas Iyer will be benefit a lot while playing under former Australian captain and the current coach of the Delhi Capitals, Ricky Ponting.
Gavaskar said that the likes of Shaw, Iyer, and Pant will learn how to be fully committed to the game under the coaching of former World Cup-winner.
”You know that Ricky Ponting will expect a hundred percent from each player from each match. And thus I feel that our young Indian players like Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant will benefit by working with Ricky Ponting. This will not only help them in the IPL but will also help them while playing for India.” Sunil Gavaskar told Sports Tak.
“While learning under Ponting, they will understand that cricket is such a sport that at every moment and every session if you give your hundred percent, then you can succeed more often than not.” he added.

Sunil Gavaskar also reckoned that there will be less pressure on swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant in the forthcoming season of the cash-rich league since he is not raking up headlines in the lead-up to the tournament.
Gavaskar said that it will be actually good for the explosive southpaw as it will help him to play with a lot more freedom as compared to the past seasons.
”Rishabh Pant has got a great chance in this IPL 2020. The good thing is that in the lead up to this IPL, there is not much discussion about him. This means that he will not be under much pressure as there will not be much expectations from Rishabh Pant. This is a good thing because when there is no pressure you can play with freedom,” Sunil Gavaskar added.
During the same show, Sunil Gavaskar also said that Delhi Capitals have a brilliant chance to win their maiden IPL title this time around as they have a great mix of Indian and overseas talents.
Delhi Capitals made their way to the playoffs for the first time in seven years last season and the Shreyas Iyer-led unit will be hoping to better their performance of the last season when they kick off their 2020 campaign against Kings XI Punjab on September 20.
