Suresh Raina, the 2011 World Cup winner and multiple IPL winner, has expressed his excitement at the confirmation of the cash-rich league taking place in the United Arab Emirates.

The 2020 edition of the IPL was originally scheduled to take place between March 29-May 24 but the outbreak of coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown forced the authorities to postpone the tournament for an indefinite period of time.

BCCI had earlier zeroed in on the September 26-November 08 window for the cash-rich league which was cleared following the postponement of the T20 World Cup by the International Cricket Council.

Suresh Raina took to his official Instagram account where he wrote-

Looking forward to the upcoming IPL with the CSK family and fans. Can’t wait to get there! #UAE #blessed #happy,” Raina captioned the post on Instagram.

Suresh Raina is the second-highest run-scorer in the history of the cash-rich league. The left-hander has scored 5368 runs in 193 IPL games at an average of 33.34 and he will be looking to leapfrog Virat Kohli in the upcoming edition, and in effect put a strong case for a potential comeback in the national side.

Meanwhile, the IPL Governing Council will meet in a few days where all the details of the tournament will he finalized.

The tournament will be played behind closed doors from September 19 while the final will take place on November 08.
