England all-rounder Tom Curran says he will not reveal all his tricks at the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, bearing in mind the T20 World Cup in Australia, later this year. Curran was roped in by Rajasthan Royals (RR), for his base price of INR 1 crore in the IPL 2020 auction.

Due to the fact that there is a World Cup later this year, the 24-year-old will be keen to have a few tricks up his sleeve, which he won’t reveal in the IPL 2020.

However, the youngster did admit that he is looking forward to joining up with fellow compatriots such as Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes.

In an interview with ESPNCricinfo, the England international player talked about his plans for the IPL 2020 season.

“If I’m bowling in the nets to some of the Indian guys, I’m not going to be showing them all the tricks,” said Curran.

“But that’s a huge benefit of having Jos, Stokesy and these guys. I think you actually learn a lot too. Speaking to Jos I’ll learn about batting. You just need to have some of the players on the international stage to talk to, and try things with,” he added.

He added, “I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve already played a lot of cricket now with the guys there, so it makes it that much easier. Especially being somewhere like India, where it’s a busy hectic schedule, to have those familiar faces there will be nice.”

Curran also revealed that he will have just one goal in the upcoming IPL season; which is self-improvement.

He said, “I don’t think you chat weaknesses with loads of people anyway. There’s a few people who you might trust, and you might ask, ‘what does Steve Smith do in this situation?’ but it’s more about developing and getting better, which we players focus more on.”

Meanwhile, IPL 2020 is slated to kick off on March 29, and the Royals’ will open their campaign against last year’s finalists Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 2nd April, at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
