IND vs NZ 2021: Twitter Reacts After India Complete A 3-0 Clean Sweep Against The Kiwis
Updated - 21 Nov 2021, 11:46 PM
The Indian team continued piling on wins at home as they registered a 3-0 clean sweep against New Zealand following a one-sided victory in the third T20I held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Opting to bat first this time after winning the toss, India began in a terrific fashion. Openers, Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma put up 69 runs on the board inside the powerplay before the former was dismissed in a double-wicket over bowled by Mitchell Santner.
Rohit kept going and reached his fifty in just 27 balls but perished soon after to a one-handed stunner from Ish Sodhi. A middle-overs collapse halted the scoring rate but a couple of late cameos from Harshal Patel and Deepak Chahar ensured India reached 184.
In response, the Kiwis were jolted early when Axar Patel repeated Santner’s feat and took two wickets in an over. Martin Guptill continued his excellent form and helped himself to a fifty but didn’t receive any support from the other end.
Once Guptill was dismissed by the returning Yuzvendra Chahal, the game seemed well out of their hands and the pressure of the scoreboard forced the Kiwis to implode. They were blown away for 111 and the Men in Blue ended up winning the final T20I by 73 runs to complete a 3-0 rout.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to India’s whitewash:

Congratulations Team India on the series win. Dream start for the new captain-coach combo of Rohit and Rahul. While the results were impressive, so was the unearthing of more options ahead of next year's World Cup. A giant step in the right direction. Keep it going?? #NZvIND

Thumping win for India. New Zealand didn’t even get close. Could be hugely demoralising for the visiting team before the Test series. Congrats #RohitSharma and #RahulDravid for a fantastic winning start

Eden Gardens never disappoints @ImRo45, another sensational innings by the captain along with some great captaincy. The bowling & fielding have been exceptional. Beating a team like @BLACKCAPS in this format by 3-0 is never easy! Excellent show. Well done #TeamIndia ??

The Importance of Virat Kohli in T20I for India is Very very important. Because he holds the one end and at the end he finish so well for India. So there should be one such player in your middle order, so there is no better player than Virat Kohli in the middle order.
