Indian captain Virat Kohli has been at his aggressive best during the opening day of the ongoing pink-ball Test against England at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Kohli was continuously in the ears of the English batsmen and one of the many examples of it was when he tried to get in the head of Ben Stokes, during the over bowled by his nemesis-in-chief Ravichandran Ashwin.

“Come On Yar Ben! That’s too high Ben!” Virat Kohli could be heard as saying to Ben Stokes, who was complaining about the drone during the 24th over of England innings.

Stokes, meanwhile, struggled throughout his 24-ball stay at the crease before Axar Patel pinned him plumb in front of the wicket after the Tea break.

The Durham all-rounder managed a mere six off 24 balls. Stokes dismissal was a perfect encapsulation of the English innings that endured a complete meltdown following the dismissal of Joe Root and Zak Crawley in the first session.

On a track that showed signs of turn, most of the English batsmen fell to a delivery that kept straight.

Following the loss of Joe Root’s wicket, England lost their last eight wickets for 38 runs in 26.5 overs as Axar Patel claimed his second successive five-wicket haul in Test match cricket.

Speaking of Virat Kohli, the Indian captain dropped an F-bomb while giving an aggressive send-off to England captain Joe Root.

Root made a cardinal mistake of going back to a delivery where he really should have been forward, and as a result, was pinned in front of the wicket.
