‘When it rains, it pours’ Indian opener KL Rahul might be realizing it to the hilt currently as his poor run-of-form continues in the ongoing five-match T20I series against England.
After having managed scores of 1 and 0 in the last two matches, the pressure was on KL Rahul coming into the third T20I given the fact that Ishan Kishan has made a brilliant start to his career as an opener and Rohit Sharma making a comeback into the side after having taken rest in the first two games.
Rahul once again opened the innings with Ishan Kishan dropping to the 3rd spot. However, his poor form continued as he registered his third duck in his last four T20I innings.
The first one to go, of-course, was KL Rahul, who was knocked over by a pacy delivery which jagged back in. Rahul was once again tentative in his footwork and he was beaten for sheer pace as he heard the dreaded sound of his timber being rattled.
Post Rahul’s dismissal, India have lost two more wickets in Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. While Wood claimed Sharma, who mistimed an attempted pull off another pacy delivery by the fast bowler to give an easy catch to Jofra Archer at short fine-leg, Ishan Kishan top-edged an attempted pull oft Chris Jordan.
At the time of writing, Team India were reeling at 3/30 after seven overs.
