After making way for Rohit Sharma in the third Test, Mayank Agarwal got a chance in the playing eleven for the ongoing fourth Test against Australia in Brisbane. The right-handed batsman got the chance only because of Hanuma Vihari’s injury and as a result, he has been included in the team as a middle-order batsman.
Mayank Agarwal, however, failed to make the most of the opportunity. He did get the start and was looking comfortable before throwing his wicket away by playing a loose drive. He left the deliveries outside off well while facing the fast-bowlers and used his feet confidently against Nathan Lyon. The Karnataka star eventually departed after scoring 38 runs off 73 balls.
While it was a short stay at the crease for Mayank Agarwal, he did manage to make a mark thanks to a humongous six. The maximum came against Lyon in the 58th over. Mayank Agarwal danced down the track on a flighted delivery and smashed it over mid-on for 102-meter six.

Talking about the game, India were on 273 for 6 in the 94th over at the time of writing this report. Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur were fighting it out in the middle. They had joined hands when India were reeling at 188 for 6 and have done remarkably well with the bat so far. Both the players are heading towards their respective maiden Test fifty.
Earlier in the game, Australia finished their first innings on 369 with Marnus Labuschagne’s century being their best effort. The four-match series is currently locked at 1-1.
