IND vs SL: Watch - Rohit Sharma Gets Castled By Lahiru Kumara's Slower Delivery In First T20I

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed by Sri Lankan bowler Lahiru Kumara in the first T20I of the 3-match T20I series between the two sides which got underway on Thursday.
Rohit had built a strong and sturdy opening partnership with Ishan Kishan after India was asked to bat first. As the hosts were looking to accelerate further, Rohit was undone by a lovely slower delivery from Kumara.

The surface in Lucknow played true before the uneven bounce made an appearance. Although Rohit read the slower delivery from Kumara’s hand, the ball stayed low and crept under the 34-year-old’s bat, knocking the off-stump back.
It was a much-needed wicket for the Lankans as the opening partnership had bloomed to 111 in the 12th over. Kishan once again struggled to get going but a flurry of boundaries off Dushmantha Chameera brought his touch back.

He began attacking and his confidence also skyrocketed. Kishan reached his fifty in 30 balls. At the time of Rohit’s dismissal, Kishan had already reached 65, his knock including eight fours and two maximums.
Earlier, Deepak Hooda received his maiden cap while Ravindra Jadeja returned to international cricket after recovering from his injury. Jasprit Bumrah also came back while Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have been rested from the T20I series.
