Ashes 2021-22: Watch - Steve Smith Shoulders Arms Quite Hilariously On Day 2 Of SCG Test

Australian batter Steve Smith is quite well known for his funky leaves while batting. He went one further on Day 2 of the SCG Test by shouldering arms in a comical fashion.

Stuart Broad was the bowler in action and he chucked one down the leg side. It was quite an easy leave and there was nothing much that a normal batter would do other than watch it go through to the keeper.

However, Smith being who he is, leaned forward quite extensively and made quite the face in the process. The commentators burst out laughing at the quirkiness of Smith.

Watch Steve Smith’s leave here:

Australia dominated Day 2 of the SCG Test after the first day was curtailed due to rain. Starting on 126/3, the overnight batters, Smith and Usman Khawaja continued building on their partnership and took them to 232 before Broad dismissed the former.

Cameron Green failed with the bat once again but Pat Cummins stayed with Khawaja and the latter was able to complete his century after returning to Test cricket after two years. Another cameo from Mitchell Starc ensured that the Aussies finished with a total above 400.

With five overs left in the day, the England openers managed to survive. They had luck on their side, however, as Starc had Zak Crawley caught in the slips but the third umpire conveyed that the fast bowler had bowled a no-ball.
