With no fans in the stadium, the players need to be mindful of what comes out of their mouth especially when they are close to stumps and Aaron Finch must have realised it after what happened during the clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore opener was heard making abusive comment while batting. His abusive words were picked up by the stump microphone and broadcast live on television, leaving the commentator in splits.

The incident took place in the sixth over of RCB’s innings bowled by Andre Russell. The Australia opener could not control his words after failing to make contact with a slower short ball from the KKR allrounder and was heard saying: “Oh, you bas*ard”. The commentator was in split as he hoped that the fans did not hear the comment.

The comment from Aaron Finch was not directed at Russell or any other player as he had just expressed his frustration over missing the delivery. On the very next delivery, Aaron Finch was hit on his helmet when Russell bowled a faster short ball. The right-handed batsman was eventually dismissed for 47 off 37 balls.

As far as the match is concerned, RCB are in the driver’s seat. At the time of compiling this report, KKR were 75 for 5 in the 14th over. Earlier in the match, RCB posted 194 for 2 in the allotted 20 overs. AB de Villiers starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 73. His knock came off just 73 balls and was studded with five fours and six sixes.
