India batsman KL Rahul has been facing criticism from all around in recent times because of his struggles with the bat especially in Tests. While the right-handed batsman is highly regarded by the team-management, he has not quite managed to cement his spot in the team. He recently lost his place in the Test side after the terrible outings against West Indies.

But while KL Rahul’s batting is drawing criticism from all around, his recent gesture for one of his fans is bound to make everyone laud him. The India star recently met his young fan, 18-year old Rahul Sawant who is suffering from cancer. KL Rahul came to know about the young boy on Twitter and did not waste much time as he surprised his fan.

KL Rahul came to meet the boy personally and even extended support for his cancer treatment. Not only that, he also sat with his young fan and talked with him for about an hour about cricket, life and other topics.

“When I read the post on Twitter, I asked my team to find out about him. It saddens me when young people succumb to such unfortunate diseases. But when I met him, I found him to be so happy and positive,” said KL Rahul after meeting Rahul.

KL Rahul, meanwhile, had a brilliant outing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy where he helped Karnataka win the title. The right-handed batsman finished the tournament as the third highest run-scorer. In 11 outings, he smashed 598 runs with the help of 1 century and five fifty. Currently, he is a part of the Indian team that is playing the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.

Rahul failed to get going in the first game, scoring just 15 as India lost the match by seven wickets in Delhi.
