Watch: MS Dhoni Gives Axar Patel A Tough Time In Nets With His Accurate Pace Bowling
At a time when India’s pace bowling arsenal is brimming with world-class talent, the team has got yet another option and it is none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni who troubled Axar Patel. With the Men in Blue gearing up for the first One-Day International against Sri Lanka in Dharamsala, the former India skipper was seen rolling his arms in the nets.
The 36-year old, who has bowled medium-fast in international cricket on few occasions, was looking in rhythm as he delivered some seam up deliveries right on the money. In fact, Axar Patel, who had the honour of facing Dhoni in the nets, was having all kind of difficulties as he was beaten multiple times by the spot on deliveries.
BCCI’s Twitter handle, which had posted a video of the wicketkeeper-batsman bowling leg-spins in nets a couple of months ago, posted yet another video showing Dhoni bowling with the caption:“Is there anything that @msdhoni cannot do? You have seen him bowl leg spin now it is time for seam up. #INDvSL”

Meanwhile, Dhoni will be solely focusing on batting when the series against Sri Lanka starts. Dhoni has received widespread criticism in recent times for his batting and will be desperate to prove his worth and prove the critics wrong. He had faced the ire for his performance in the T20Is against New Zealand but his record in ODIs this year has been commendable. Since handing over the captaincy to Kohli this year, he has scored 716 runs from 26 ODIs at an average of 65.09.
