The year 2020 is indeed throwing some big surprises for everyone. Who would have thought that Jasprit Bumrah, arguably the best death bowler in the world at present, would concede four sixes in an over? Who would have thought that he would concede those sixes, not against a specialist batsman but a bowler?

Kolkata Knight Riders bowler Pat Cummins, on Wednesday, hit the Mumbai Indians pacer for four sixes in an over in the fifth match of IPL 2020. After a forgettable outing with the ball that saw him concede 49 runs in just three overs, Pat Cummins came out all guns blazing with the bat although it could not prevent a defeat for his side.

Before bowling to Pat Cummins, Bumrah was enjoying a stunning outing with the ball. The right-arm pacer had conceded just 5 runs in his first three overs in addition to picking up two wickets including that of Andre Russell. However, he could not finish the night on a good note as Pat Cummins took him to the cleaners.

When Bumrah came to bowled his final over and 18th of KKR’s innings, he was taken aback by Pat Cummins’ hitting. The first ball went for a maximum before Bumrah bowled a dot delivery. It was followed by another six and a couple of runs. The Australia star hit two more sixes sandwiched between a wide as Bumrah conceded 27 runs to finish with figures of 2 for 32.

Pat Cummins was eventually dismissed for 33 off 12 balls. His whirlwind knock, however, could not avoid a defeat for KKR as they opened their campaign with a heavy 46-run defeat. Chasing 196, KKR finished their innings on 146 for 9.
