In the pre-series press-conference, India skipper Virat Kohli had said that his team was not thinking about avenging the loss in the World Cup semifinal last year because New Zealand players are so nice. However, all those pre-series comments took the back seat when Virat Kohli caught Martin Guptill in the ongoing second T20I in Auckland.

Just like the first T20I, Martin Guptill started firing on all cylinders right from the word go in the ongoing game too. While his opening partner Colin Munro was taking his time early on, Martin Guptill started playing the big shots right from the very start and was causing all sorts of trouble for Indian batsmen.

But fortunately for India, he could not make the most of the start. After slamming 33 from just 19 balls, he miscued a Shardul Thakuar delivery on the very last ball of the powerplay. The right-handed batsman perhaps wanted to make the most of the final powerplay delivery but his plan did not pay the desired result.

Shardul Thakur bowled a wider delivery which Martin Guptill tried to loft over the off-side. However, he could not connect well with the ball and ended up skying it. The ball went high but could not cover the distance as Virat Kohli caught it at mid-off with ease. And as soon as the ball landed in his safe hands, Virat Kohli celebrated it wildly and also hurled some abuses in Hindi towards the New Zealand opener.

Here is a clip of that wicket:

India, meanwhile, are leading the five-match series after winning the first game by six wickets. India chased down a mammoth total of 203 to win the game and start the challenging tour on a brilliant note.
