Rajasthan Royals have launched their jersey for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The thirteenth edition of the tournament is scheduled to start on September 19 with last year’s finalists Mumbai Indians taking and Chennai Super Kings locking horns in the tournament-opener.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, will open their campaign on September 22 when they take on Chennai Super Kings. And ahead of the brand new season, they have revealed the new jersey. And the manner in which the franchise launched the jersey is absolutely breathtaking.

The players were enjoying themselves on the beach when a parachutist jumped from a plane with a backpack containing the brand new jerseys. The players were left enthralled as the parachutist left a trail of white smoke in his route while making his way to the beach.

As soon as he landed, the players started clapping for him before he kept the backpack and walked away. Rajasthan Royals youngster Riyan Parag then took out three jerseys and handed them to his teammates David Miller and Robin Uthappa while keeping one for himself.

The new jersey is not very different from the previous one as blue and pink continue to be the main color.

Here is the video of the franchise’s jersey launch:

Rajasthan Royals will be hoping that their new jersey changes their fortunes in the competition. The Rajasthan-based outfit has not won the IPL since the inaugural season in 2008 when the legendary Shane Warne led them to the title against all the odds.

Since that season, they have not made it to the final while making it to the playoffs on just three occasions. Last year, their performance was really disappointing as they finished at a lowly seventh in the eight-team competition.
