No player from India and Bangladesh will be willing to miss the upcoming second Test at the Eden Gardens. All the players will be keen to be a part of the historic day-night Test. Both the teams are making their debut in day-night Tests through the forthcoming game. However, India opener Rohit Sharma can miss the game after suffering an injury while training on Tuesday.

Rohit Sharma along with his other teammates was practicing sleep catching when he failed to grab one catch conveniently. Consequently, the ball hit him at an awkward place and he was soon seen grimacing in pain. Rohit Sharma was soon attended by the team doctor before he decided to walk away from the training session.

Rohit will be hoping that the injury is nothing serious and he makes it to the playing eleven for the Eden Gardens Test. The right-handed batsman had failed to get going in the first Test and will be keen to make amends in the forthcoming match. In case, Rohit misses out due to the injury, young Shubman Gill is likely to make his Test debut.

Rohit Sharma to be rested for West Indies series:

Meanwhile, latest reports suggest that the opening batsman could be rested for the upcoming limited-overs series against West Indies. India will host West Indies next month for three ODIs and as many T20Is. Both the teams will play the three T20Is on December 6, 8 and 11. Following the T20Is, the two team will play three ODIs on December 15, 18 and 22.

Rohit has played non-stop cricket this year and has been part of every series that India have played this year. While skipper Virat Kohli has been already rested twice this year, Rohit is yet to get a break. The selectors, meanwhile, are likely to announce the squads for the West Indies series today.
