Wish U Were President While Yoyo Was In Demand: Yuvraj Singh To Sourav Ganguly

There is excitement all around over Sourav Ganguly becoming the new BCCI president.The legendary cricketer will take over as the new BCCI President later this month. He has already filed his nomination for the post and is set to be elected unopposed on October 23. Cricketers from around the world have started congratulating Ganguly and former India batsman Yuvraj Singh has also followed suit.

The World Cup-winner, on Friday, took to Twitter to congratulate his former teammate and left a special message for him. Yuvraj made his debut for India under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy only in 2000. Ganguly gave chances to several youngsters during his captaincy and Yuvraj was one of them. Yuvraj, in fact, went on to become one of India’s greatest ODI and T20I batsmen.

Coming to Yuvraj’s tweet, he wished Ganguly and is hopeful that his former teammate will make others understand cricket administration from a player’s point of view. Yuvraj also cheekily said that he would have loved Ganguly to be the BCCI president when he underwent the yo yo test.

Last month, Yuvraj had revealed how the selectors took a u-turn on his career after he passed the yo yo test. According to the southpaw, he was asked to prepare for the Sri Lanka series following the 2017 Champions Trophy and then to clear the yo-yo test to be eligible for selection. And while he went on to clear the test, he did not earn the recall.

Sourav Ganguly, meanwhile, was quick to respond to Yuvraj’s tweet and was all praise for his ex-teammate, writing:
