Indian Women’s Cricket Team would be aiming to keep the winning run continue after winning the first 2 matches. The Women in Blue are set to play against a dangerous England team where a win for India would seal the semi-final berth. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has been terrific in leading the side but hasn’t quite made an impact with the bat in hand.

The Women in Blue are considered to be favourites for the T20 WC 2023 as they have good depth in both batting & bowling departments. India got a reality check against West Indies where they were in a precarious position of 43-3  in the run chase of 119 runs.

Harmanpreet Kaur goes past Rohit Sharma

Harmanpreet Kaur played her 149th T20I against England at St. George’s Oval. The batter has gone past Rohit Sharma’s tally of 148 T20I matches. It’s a huge feat for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team captain. New Zealand Women’s Cricket Team player Suzie Bates has played 142 matches and England Women’s Cricket Team player Danielle Wyatt has played 140 matches.

Exciting Contest on Cards

All eyes would be on the young batter Shafali Verma as her experience of playing in the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup would be quite pivotal. The Women in Blue would have to find a reliable finisher as every time the top order won’t win the matches for the team. The team would be banking on the wicket-keeper batter Richa Ghosh to get the team over the finish line in tricky scenarios.

The vice-captain Smriti Mandhana must play the role of the anchor as she is someone who can hold one end and later make her start count. The Women in Blue most likely will qualify for the semi-finals as their next match is against Ireland on 20th February. Ireland almost pulled off an upset against West Indies where they can’t afford to take Ireland lightly.
