Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have proved to be lethal for India while bowling in tandem. The duo have established themselves as the premier spinners for the national team with their consistent performances ahead of senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. It is also notable that Chahal and Yadav share a great camaraderie on and off the field.
Their pair is known as ‘KulCha’ and the duo had grabbed headlines with their prolific performance over South Africa in 2018. On Salaam Cricket 2020, Kuldeep Yadav recalled his first meeting with Yuzvendra Chahal, which incidentally came in the Mumbai Indians camp.
I remember meeting Chahal at the breakfast table: Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav is junior to Yuzvendra Chahal. The duo currently play for different franchises in the IPL. But their first meet happened over the breakfast table while both the players were playing for Mumbai Indians. Kuldeep said Chahal cares for him and treats him like a younger brother.
“I remember meeting Chahal at the breakfast table when I was selected by the Mumbai Indians. I had gone for practice and Chahal was playing at the DY Patil stadium.
“He gave me a lot of respect and the bond grew from there. He cares a lot for me and treats me like a younger brother. He gives me ideas about life and cricket. Whenever I have some problems he comes and talks to me that’s why our chemistry looks so good,” Kuldeep said.
Chahal, known for his sense of humour, quipped: Pagle, rulayega kya?”
Chahal and Kuldeep will be next seen in action for India after August.
