Zimbabwe all-rounder, Sikandar Raza has been added to the Zimbabwe squad for the two Tests against Bangladesh, scheduled to start next month.

However, Raza won’t feature in the preceding limited-overs tour of South Africa which is slated to commence on this Sunday.

The 32-year old had to miss out on selection on both the tours due to the contractual issues which now got resolved. It was possible only after a meeting was held between the player and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC)’s contracts committee on Monday. Meanwhile, Sikandar Raza gave his explanation and apologised for his actions and promised to be committed to the Zimbabwe national side.

However, Zimbabwe is slated to leave South Africa on Wednesday. They are scheduled to play three ODI’s starting at Kimberley from Sunday. They will play as many T20I’s.

Sikandar Raza wants to enjoy cricket for Zimbabwe

“I am extremely delighted with the news and thanks to ZC who quickly sorted out my issues,” Raza said. “I just want to put this behind me and concentrate on and enjoy my cricket,” he added.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director, Givemore Makoni welcomed Raza’s return to the national side.

“We are pleased to have found common ground with Sikandar, who is one of our best players. We welcome him back to the national team set-up, and we hope he will contribute immensely in Bangladesh and in future tours,” he said.

However, there is no doubt about the fact that Sikandar Raza is one of the best all-rounders the country has seen. Ever since his problem with the Zimbabwe Cricket Board, he went onto play the Global T20 League in Canada.
