Washington Sundar has seen a slight slump in his form in the IPL 2021 and the Royal Challengers Bangalore are unlikely to retain him if the mega auction takes place. Sundar had a fantastic run in the Test series against Australia and England and he was praised a lot by the experts for the way he played in tough times.

It looked to be the start of a purple patch for him as an all-rounder, but it did not last long as he managed to pick up just 3 wickets in the 6 games he played this season. He has promoted up the batting order at three but he did not capitalize on the opportunity and was dropped from the playing XI in their final game. Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Sunrisers Hyderabad spin department looks to have surrounded with the overseas players of Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Mohammad Nabi while Shahbaz Nadeem is the only renounced spinner in their squad. Sunrisers cannot afford to play two overseas bowlers with the balance of the team being affected.

They require an Indian spinner who can bat at seven and Washington Sundar should suit their needs. Sundar can bowl in the powerplay for them and with Muthiah Muralidharan as the spin coach, he will certainly learn a lot. This will also be a big boost to their Indian contingent and they can play three out and right Indian seamers with Sundar and Rashid as their lead spinners.
