AB De Villiers is the fifth highest-paid player overall in the IPL earning ₹ 1,025,165,000 as of the total income in the thirteen editions. De Villiers started his IPL career for the Delhi franchise in 2008 and then was bought by the RCB franchise in 2011 where he has been playing for the last 10 years.

De Villiers has won more games for his franchise in the IPL and the 360-degree player is a great asset to have in the team. He can do the wicket keeping as well as he is a live wire in the field. He remains an integral part of the franchise and is looking to win his maiden title under Kohli’s captaincy.

Suresh Raina is the fourth highest-paid player overall in the IPL earning ₹ 1,107,400,000 as of the total income in the thirteen seasons. Raina has been one of the most consistent players for the Chennai Super Kings and is popularly called the Mr. IPL as he never fails to get into the act.

He is third in the list of overall highest run-scorers in the tournament and he missed the last season due to personal reasons. He had to captain Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017 and expect that, he was with the Chennai Super Kings franchise throughout his career. He is a match-winner and does enjoy the IPL occasion post-retirement.

Virat Kohli is the third highest-paid player overall in the IPL earning ₹ 1,432,000,000 as of the total income in the thirteen editions. He is the only player in IPL history to be playing for the same franchise from the inaugural edition and has been a great servant for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Despite being very successful as a player in the IPL, Kohli hasn’t won a trophy which is very surprising. He is one of the best match-winners in Indian cricket and it is tough to digest that he could not take RCB to its maiden trophy. He got close three times in 2009, 2011, and 2016 as the finalists, but fell on the losing side.

Rohit Sharma is the second highest-paid player overall in the IPL earning ₹ 1,466,000,000 as of the total income in his thirteen seasons. He started his IPL career for the Deccan Chargers in 2008, but he was picked up by Mumbai Indians in 2011 and made the captain of the franchise in 2013.

He is the most successful captain in the IPL winning five titles for his franchise Mumbai Indians and also has won a title for Deccan Chargers under the leadership of Adam Gilchrist. He remains an integral part of the franchise as well as for the Indian side in all the formats. He has been very effective ever since he has started to open the innings.

MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is the highest-paid player overall in the IPL earning ₹ 1,528,400,000 as of the total income in the thirteen seasons. He was with the Chennai Super Kings from the inaugural edition of 2008 until 2015, then had to play for the Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 and 2017 and then returned as the captain of CSK from 2018 until now.

The legendary wicket-keeper batsman has retired from international cricket and is playing only the Indian premier league. He hasn’t been at his best in the last two years but is still one of the best masterminds in the game and the youngsters do learn a lot from him. He has won three titles of the CSK franchise and is the second most successful captain.
