The last decade witnessed a lot of engaging cricket matches in ODI cricket. The decade witnessed India winning the ODI World Cup in 2011, followed by Champions Trophy victory in 2013. Australia bagged their fifth ODI World Cup title in 2015. In 2019, England managed to win their first-ever ODI World Cup. Both the tournaments also witnessed New Zealand finishing as the runners-up.

In the last decade, many batsmen also emerged as a run-machine in the ODI format, smashing a lot of ODI runs. These batsmen piled up a lot of runs in ODI cricket, thereby, coming to the limelight in international cricket. Here we take a look at the record of ODI runs in the last decade. 2011: Virat Kohli (1381)

In the year 2011, Virat Kohli was the highest run-scorer in ODIs. He piled up most ODI runs in the year with 1381 runs in 34 innings. He had an average of 47.62 and a strike rate of 85.56 during the year. The right-handed batsman also smashed 4 centuries and 8 fifties in ODIs. His highest knock in 2011 was 117 runs.

Overall, the Indian skipper has scored 12,169 runs in 245 ODI innings. The 32-year-old player has smashed 43 hundreds and 62 fifties and owns a batting average of 59.07.
